Okay let’s get this out of the way. The food was fresh, good, and had great portion sizes (minus the small steak). However, I don’t appreciate being lied to or misled. We chose this place because of Alexandria’s Restaurant Week. Yet the menu advertised was not the one presented at the table. When we asked the manager to honor it, we were told no. Also, the service was on the slower side. But, the overall value was good. Photo note: The calamari (which was really good) and the cauliflower is not pictured.

The service was phenomenal between the wait staff and the manager who was helping out. The Garden party cocktail was very refreshing. The meatballs were very good and easy to split between two people. For dinner we ordered the Bolognese with the house egg noodles and the roasted chicken (both pictured). The pasta came in a fantastic red sauce and the chicken was very flavorful. The espresso gelato for dessert was great on such a hot day. Will certainly be back to try the pizzas.

Rustico has officially become my comfort‑food sanctuary in Alexandria. Their Basil Tomato Soup deserves its own fan club — rich, velvety, and perfectly seasoned, it’s the kind of bowl that makes you slow down and savor every spoonful. The staff is consistently friendly, the atmosphere is cozy without trying too hard, and every visit feels like a little reset. If you’re looking for a place that nails both flavor and hospitality, Rustico delivers every time.

Came for restaurant week. Portion sizes were large. Ordered a feta dip which was delicious. I also really enjoyed their steak and fries. I would probably pass on the dessert if I was just popping in regularly. Service was slow at times. There isn’t a bunch of parking either which can be tricky. Overall, not bad restaurant and would likely come back.

Great place for a nice quiet dinner. Great food and service. This was our first visit, although we had two in our party that had dined here before and picked this spot. Their recommendation was great. We ordered different meals, which all were excellent, but one was truly outstanding - the grilled salmon. It was cooked to perfection and was accompanied by the most delicious medley of navy beans, kale and tomatoes. I would love to return here the next time I am in the Alexandria area to get this dish again. Our waiter was polite and attentive. He was efficient and seemed to be enjoying his job, which showed. The restaurant is attractively decorated and very clean. This was such a great place, all around.
